What are Reviews?
Community reviews of engine.io games before they launch. Studios share playable builds from Engine Studio; anyone signed in can list a build here by its share link, and the community plays it, rates it and leaves feedback for the studio.
How do I list a build?
Copy the build's share link from Engine Studio — it looks like studio.engine.io/share/studio/game/7/19 — sign in and paste it above. The link has to be active, and the game and studio names come straight from Engine Studio. As the person who listed it, you see every rating and all feedback (but can't rate it yourself), and we email you about new feedback and when the build reaches 5, 10, 25, 50 and every 100 ratings; turn that off on the game's page.
How does the rating work?
It uses the engine.io approval scale: 0 to 3 stars in thirds — 0.33, 0.67, 1.00 and so on up to 3.00. A build's rating is the plain average of everyone's ratings, from the very first one, with no limit on how many. Ratings and feedback stay hidden until you rate the build yourself, so nobody rates with the crowd's verdict in front of them. Once you have, you see the average, every rating (with no names attached) and the feedback, and can leave your own.
What happens when a game gets a new build?
The person who listed the game can switch it to a new build from the game's page. Each build gets its own ratings, so a new build starts a fresh round. Feedback stays, marked with the build it was left on.
